About Phil. Island Kids Int’l. Foundation, Inc.

Since 2007, the Philippine Island Kids International Foundation, Inc. (PIKIFI) out of charity cares for children in street situations (colloquial “street kids”), waste picker children and their families, and children who have become victims of severe neglect and abuse in the Philippines. As a government accredited aid organization with a license to operate, we offer abused, neglected, abandoned, deprived, and extremely poor children nutritious food, shelter, protection and security through family-like care. We teach them values and give them real perspectives for a better future through quality education up to college graduation or apprenticeships.

The aid organization PIKIFI is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) providing both development aid and humanitarian aid. It is financially supported by the Swiss support association “Island Kids Philippines” (IKP) and the German sister society “Island Kids Philippines Deutschland” (IKPD). The members of both support associations work voluntarily, and there is no budget for commercial advertisement. Therefore, almost zero administrative costs are generated and donations support directly and in full the benefited children.

PIKIFI  successfully and sustainably combats poverty and injustice:

  • out of conviction and benefaction
  • through care, tolerance and understanding
  • by protecting and educating children and young people
  • through good schooling for children and young people
  • by promoting and strengthening the family
  • by creating jobs and livelihood programs
  • by helping people to help themselves
